The food and service was not bad, and I have been there many times with friends, coworkers and family.
Once in a while they do miss your order, but I guess that's kinda typical at AYCE Japanese buffet.
The owner was a pretty nice guy and good cook, at dinner time, often he will make special desserts that's not on the menu. He will either ask if you are interested or you can ask the waiters.
To the two reviewer above, I am not sure why you said the owner is a woman. Maybe you think the cashier is the owner?
One of the speciality of Akina is they offer some pretty good cooked food as well. And sometimes I tends to order more cook food than at other Japanese buffets.
For sure I will visit again.
The food was average but what's bad is the attitude of the manager towards the customer. She was very very rude! Where else can you find a restaurant, or any establishment for that matter, where the waitresses are the ones apologizing to the customers because of the attitude of their managers? Their kids price is ridiculously expensive too. $15 for a 4 yr old child? When one of my friends went back in to look for something she might have left, with the waitresses trying to help her out, the manager came out from the back, and at the top of her lungs, screamed that the waitresses stop helping my friend right away.
It is our first time to visit the restaurant. Most of the staff were courteous but the owner/manager of the restaurant is totally rude. We would not consider going back to this restaurant and will never recommend it to anyone. They overprice the payment for kids, their staff can't understand basic english and totop it up the MANAGER/OWNER is like an uneducated person. SHE would come to us mad and shouting at us. This is the first time we have ever encounter such treatment. and to think the food is not that great is just about the same as other japanese buffet restaurant. so I would give it a ZERO for review if there is a choice. ITS NOT WORTH IT!
