Saturday had lunch in the restaurant. Was very sick. Had to send back the calamari twice - not hot and then covered in grease. Actually all the food was average or greasy. Very disappointed. Also found the first floor to be dirty - not as clean as last year.
Unfortunately we were unable to sample their food because we waited over 45 minutes for our order and it still did not arrive so we had to leave. It was the first time of the many places we have eaten that we were handed our cutlery and menu at the entrance desk, by the host, and pointed to where we were to sit. I would have thought "Gananoque Inn" would have had more class. A glass of house wine was $7.00 served in a smudged wine glass. The patio was very nice.
We ate at Muskie Jakes, it was part of our meal Package, nice little restaurant with a great view and friendly atmosphere, do not order the calimari unless you like burnt rubber bands in old oil, I think that threw me off for the rest of the meal, had their version of surf and turf, (2 or 3 oz lobster tail & a fast fry steak) The lobster was tasteless and rubbery and they didn't even have melted butter to cover up the poor quality, the strip loin steak was 1/4" thick and tough as a new boot, the Desert was awesome, apparently they bring that in( no kidding) Breakfast was 10% better
Four of us met here for a friend's farewell dinner. We ate at Muskie Jake's and had a beautiful view of the water. Our waiter was charming and attentive. Two of us had the chicken souvlaki platter and aside from the crunchy rice, it was fine, although the portions were small and no bread was served with the meals. The greek salad that came with it was very good. The others had fish and chips which they enjoyed.
The food was very good and the waite staf was very pleasent. My friends and i would eat there again. Very nice place to go out for the night.
