Les P'tits Plaisirs bakery opened its doors on the corner of Plaza St-Hubert in 2002. The shop serves great pastries, including Viennese varieties, as well as chocolate and different types of bread. In fact, there are so many baked goods to choose from that customers will want to try something new on each visit, whether it's a cup of hot chocolate, a Dulce de Leche and pear tart, a wonderfully warm baguette, or a slice of chocolate bread. These are just some of the many reasons to stop by for a gourmet break during a shopping trip or to visit regularly if you live in the neighbourhood.
After a number of years in the bakery business, Sandrine and Pascal, the shops co-owners, offer good advice to those who wish to open their own shop: "Don't underestimate the time spent on administrative work!" says Sandrine. She spends more than a day and a half each week on this side of the business, taking care of wages, accounting, and other types of paper work. Sandrine also needs to stay on top of inventory and the bakery's orders. But she comes from a business management background and this, combined with Pascal's experience, makes them a solid team able to face the daily challenges of running a bakery.
