GERHARD is a menswear shop in Toronto's historic "Junction" neighborhood.
We stock Canadian made clothing and work to cultivate community.
We believe that Canada produces some of the best clothing in the world, in terms of quality, design and value.
In a world obsessed with fast and cheap, we have decided to slow down and focus only on what’s good. We stock real products made by real people, that require time, effort and expense to produce. Our decision to buy Canadian results in an authentic product that is representative of its makers and their culture.
We also believe that buying Canadian is good for social, economic and environmental reasons, that extend beyond our borders.more...See more text
“Dress is a really powerful life tool,” notes Langton Willms. The owner of menswear store Gerhard Supply learned the symbols parceled up in cloth early in life. “I definitely got my flair for dress from my mother,” he says. Her appreciation for good fabrics and cuts was passed on. “I noticed the impact dressing well had on getting jobs,” he says. It only made sense that the fashion-conscious teenager would eventually end up working in the industry.
Sartorialists of the city will delight in Gerhard Supply’s stock of men’s jackets in brands like OSC Cross, Outclass and Reigning Champ. It helps that everything in the store is impeccably displayed and that stylists at are uber helpful. Who says that winter wear can’t be sexy?
This upscale Junction boutique has built its brand by specializing in locally made and designed menswear and lifestyle products, hosting a talented mix of Toronto apparel and accessory designers. Footwear designer Broken Homme provides the selection of rugged lace-up leather boots, while 18 Waits’ selection of denim blazers, bandanas and short-sleeve button-ups channel a vintage Canadian look. Facial hair aficionados will beeline to beard-care products by Crown Shaving Co., while those in the scents-for-men market will gravitate to specialty colognes by Province Apothecary or musk-jasmine candles by Brennan Michael.
This Junction boutique is where you want to head if you’re looking for a carefully curated collection of locally-made suits. Believe it or not, you don’t need to go to a bespoke tailor to get something locally-crafted around here.
