I can concur with the rudeness of the staff I don’t understand how they get away with it . At the risk of being threatening I have absolutely discourage everyone I know from ever going there I actually live in the neighbourhood where one of the previous owners used to live told everyone .
I purchased my road bike from them last fall (2014), and have had nothing but great experiences with them. Prior to purchasing, i went in to get some info and browse. They gave me a lot of their time and answered all my questions, and provided info that I didn't realize i should think about. When i purchased the bike, i hot amazing service from the fitting through to picking accessories, and all my service calls have been quick, friendly and free. Great spot to purchase a bike or get service in east Toronto
Last year I was in the market for a new bike, and having had my old one serviced here, I decided to give them a shot at selling me one. After researching my options at the on-line site, I was armed and ready for the show. Upon my arrival, Simon, proceeded to suggest most-if not all- of the models I had already chosen out myself. He was quick to point out options I would-or would not-really be needing, and was exceptionally helpful in making sure it would be "tricked-out" with any extra's I might be needing (lights, computer, etc.). Best of all, it was right in my affordability range, and, included an extended service and tune-up policy. As for the servicing of the bike itself, I can honestly say I have never been turned away, either on the phone or in the shop itself, and never had to wait to have my work done. Always professional, always polite, and always willing to help. I can't think of any reason NOT to use this shop for bike purchases and/or servicing.
The staff are rude with the exception of the owner Nelson, who is a decent guy. I bought 2 bikes at the same time there, one for me and one for my wife. Worked out a decent price, and was told that my bike would have to be ordered in and would arrive in 2 weeks. 6 weeks later my bike arrived, and I took it out for its first ride that night. When I tried to brake going down a hill, the front disc brake didn't work. When I called ahead to get them to take a look at it, they immediately said it was my fault and that "it happens". I asked to speak with Nelson who said to just bring it in. When it was time to pick up the bike, Nelson was not there and the staff tried to charge me for the warranty work. Irate, I told them to call Nelson, who said there was no charge. I gave them 2 other chances to make up for this instance and was still greeted by the horrendous customer service of the staff there. I won't be going back, and have gone to a different bike shop for service even though I was given "2 years of free tune ups" with the purchase of the 2 bicycles. Basically if Nelson is not there, nothing is operating as a business should. He needs better staff.
Their service staff is incredibly rude, they messed up assembling my brothers bike, a fixed gear, and forgot to tighten the lock ring on the cog, causing the lock ring to blow off stripping the threads on the rear hub, making for a very expensive repair. When we brought the bike back to the store we met the rudest staff I have ever encountered in my life, the basically called us liars, and refused to come good on the repairs for the bike. We were in shock with the service we received when we left the store. Aside from the service and not coming good on their warranty, I would never ever buy a bike from them, they obviously take shortcuts when assembling their bikes - NEGLECTING TO TIGHTEN A LOCK RING ON A FIXED GEAR BIKE CAN BE INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!
