One of our first dining experiences in Peterborough, we always enjoy going back and trying something different. The meals are truly exotic, (the Butter Chicken is a family favourite), and the quality is exceptional. The staff is also great - patient, friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is cosy and inviting. You can also order for Pickup. The only thing I would complain about is that I miss the old-style Charlie's Spring Rolls!!! They were THE best! Also, I'm a cheapskate, but I find the prices well worth it, good value for money. I'm very picky when it comes to food, but this is one place I could go to often and always recommend to friends.
Fresh and delicious. Fragrant, flavourful, extremely fresh, perfectly cooked. Sauces are great, veggies are stir fried to perfection (bright colours and not soggy), huge portions for the price. A family favourite.
I can't say enough about this restaurant. I tell everyone who will listen how good the food is. And the dishes I ordered (above) are my favorite anywhere. I am a Thai food fanatic and have had it in many restaurants in Canada and the US (where I live now)and nowhere compares. I make sure I hit Cosmic Charlies the first day I get home when I visit, and my friends, who are now converts, are always eager to join me. Luckily I am moving back to Peterborough in June, so they will have a new regular!
WOW! I had been recommended to go to this restaurant by a stranger in Peterborough square a while back - but couldn't get a table on that visit. Luckily when I came back in February it was not too busy and we got a table no problem. Had the beef satay and my girlfriend had the butter chicken - absolutely phenominal - great house red wine and salad as well (the dressing is different but really really good). The atmosphere is very artsy with beautiful decor that made for a perfect evening. Recommended to anyone who's looking for a change :) Josh
Both myself and my partner are vegetarians and were pleased at the number of vegetarian noodle options on the menu. First off, I ordered a Chai Tea. This actually came in a tea pot, and at just $2, I recieved 3 cups of fresh tea. They actually just steep the leaves in the pot, which shows how it wasn't store bought. The noodles(Chang Mai) were very well done, and the red curry spice wasn't overpowering, although still 'spicey'. My partner had the Mee Goreng noodles and she thought it was exquisite. It was on the sweet side but with a squeeze of the lemon the sweetness was taken down a notch. The only complaint she had was that there was a large sprig of celantro on top of the dish and it would have been better chopped up because most people would just take the sprig off the plate and waste it. I would come here frequently for lunch, however, with a lunch bill of a bit over $15 a person, I'll only really come here for special occasions. That's not to say it's not worth it, as this is one the best restaurants in Peterborough.
