We've been going to the Weasel for many years. Usual order - Wings and Fries, French Onion soup, Weasel Nachos or Meatloaf. Went there after the new ownership takeover and renovations. There were only 2 customers in the restaurant yet it took 1 hour to bring our food order. The wings were bone dry. Appetizers poor quality. The atmosphere is cold, un-inviting. Cheap wobbly tables. New owners let go off some staff soon as they took over. Prices are up. No more value. Hidden cameras everywhere.
Thought we'd have a nice cozy supper here as we've grown accustomed to but were loudly surprised by the amount of noise from inside. What used to be a cute, cozy pub has been stripped down and rid of warmth and love. This is now a dime a dozen sports bar with basic food and tv's on walls. While I can appreciate the building needed a reno it's a shame there was no effort to keep the original atmosphere that made it special.the owner asked our thoughts but didn't care to listen...
Our official wing place. My wife and I come here every other week for our night out from the kids. Best wings in Oshawa. Go on Monday for 1/2 price wing night!!!!
Came in here for a pre wedding chatter with my guys, had the wings. They are great wings, and some great service. Good stable bar.
The best part about this place was the chicken wings and the curry fries. The curry fries were delicious and I have been craving them ever since!
Special of the day came with a garden salad which contained not just brown lettuce, but BLACK SLIMY lettuce. I guess the waitress was too embarrassed to come back to our table because she ignored us completely until she brought our entres. She even had to move the plate containing the slimy lettuce to serve the entre, and STILL didn't offer any explanation, excuse or apology for serving such an ancient salad...it had to be at least one week old. After speaking with the manager on duty, we were offered a substitute with her apologies. The waitress then became overly salatious and sickenly "helpful" after previously ignoring a serious health hazard. I WOULD NOT LET MY DOG EAT THERE!
Onion rings were decent but not worth the $5 (no dipping sauce and a small portion). Trying to get a server's attention was brutal, even though they kept walking by the table. And I don't know what it is, but Waltzing Weasel's starting to feel a bit seedy these days. We go at least once a month, but we may start branching out soon since nothing really compels us to stay.
Initial service was prompt, and the wait for our food was minimal. The food itself was quite tasty and done in fair portions. I found the staff to not be quite as friendly as I was expecting given tales from my friends, but they weren't blatantly rude (or even subtly rude) or in any way incompetent. Just not quite as personable as I like to find in pubs with the otherwise open atmosphere of the Weasel.
I'm almost there every saturday. We usually go around dinner time but sometimes we get there alittle late. Food has always been great and has always been quick service with a friendly smile. This last visit my boyfriend roomie and I ordered one of every martini; the nachos and wings. It was great food and a real good price. The portions are HUGE. If you like roast beef and yorkshire pudding I suggest you try the Rost beef yorkie; they take a huge yorkshire pudding put mashers in the bottom roast on it and coat it with gravey for 10.00 I had 3 meals from it.
This restaurant is a constant success for me. I've been going there since I was 17. In this case we had a light lunch and weren't disappointed. The springrolls were flavourful, although the side sauce would have been nicer in a glassware bowl instead of the plastic lidded thing. The burger was thick and juicy. Lots of garnish that was fresh and crisp. Well done.
It took at least 15-20 min before someone aknowledged we were there (on the patio)(eventhough they walked by 4 times) Our drinks didnt get refilled The glasses of water were forgotten No one checked to see if everything was ok. However the food was good, but next time Ill be sure to have a different server.
Way Cool they are doing $4 Keiths $4 mussels (mussels are awesome)and $4 crabcakes on Tuesdays. I was on the patio, the service was great. The waitress also told me about their $4 Domestic Draft on Thursday and discount apps. Think I'll come back then
Staff was EXTREMELY Fast, Very Courteous and Friendly. Great Food, WILL BE BACK. Trivia was good too.
I visited last week and do not understand how people can say this place deserves an 8.5. The food was cold the waitress was rude and the atmosphere sucked unless you were an old brit that wanted to talk to his cronies at the bar. I would much prefer to go to a newer place where being a regular doesn't matter as much.
Excellent place to visit. Not just saying this because it's my local!!! The food is always fantastic not to mention a huge selection of domestic and imported beers! Service is always helpful and friendly.
Visiting from Alberta thus group get together. Party of 6. Dinner was excellent. Service was 100% by both 'Jennifers' but particularly wonderful by Jennifer(Dark hair). Great service, courtesy and overall a star! Will be back.
What a great place to play. Went for a bite to eat and stayed for the entertainment. Great time, great staff, huge portions. Ordered too much naco's where huge and the burger was excellent. Just going to have the burger next time
Great Pub. Comfotable, friendly. Food was great. The servers were fun. Great selection of drafts
Had dinner there. Food was excellent. Loved the appetizers. GF's daughter knocked her full drink over at table and staff was quick to clean up and refill her cup for free. No worries!
We had the New York steak although it was a lobster celebration of Alexander Keiths' 211th birthday. An appetizer of Miller Genuine Draft and Wisers with ginger, while we enjoyed the live music and warm, cosy surroundings. I can't remember our servers' name but he was hospitable and attentive. The relaxed atmosphere, the great food and a couple Keiths' souveniers made for a memorable dinner date. We're going to come back with friends and stay longer.
