Some people choose their professions based on market trends, others on the people they work with. But for Kyle Smallegange, founder of Alpha Pro Painting, what led him to professional painting was his entrepreneurial spirit. “I’ve worked for a lot of different people in a lot of different roles,” Kyle says. “But what I like most about my job now is that I’m my own boss.”
Officially opened in 2013, Kyle had already been a painter on-and-off for years. Originally, he started as a way to help his family and friends, but soon more people were seeking out his services. “Painting used to be a weekend thing for me,”Kyle recalls. “It’s something I’m good at, so I kept getting more and more jobs until I had to take it on full-time. Since then, we’ve only gotten bigger.”
Now, his painting expertise ranges from residential properties to commercial buildings and new housing developments in the Toronto and Durham Region.
I can't say enough about the excellent work Kyle did painting our home. His prices are excellent for the A++ quality of work he does. I called Kyle based on a good friends reference. He came when he said he would to quote the job. Completed the job in the time he quoted and cleaned up after the job. We had him paint master bedroom ceiling walls trim, master bath trim and halls from the 2nd story to the basement. Don't call anyone else no need he is the best.
My husband and I were looking to freshen up our home but didn't have the budget for a reno. Kyle painted our main level, upstairs and downstairs hallways and kitchen cabinets and also installed new baseboards. He did an absolutely fabulous job. He was a great communicator, worked very quickly and cleanly and made sure that we were completely happy with the job he'd done. I feel like I'm in a new house. We are very happy with the experience and definitely would recommend him.
Kyle and his team just completed some painting in my house. He was the third out of four quotes we got and he made us feel comfortable right from the beginning. He actually asked us what our budget was and I wasn't sure how to answer that question, but I did. His first reaction was 'that is way too high'! I thought that all these reviews were written by Kyle but called just the same. I was blown away that his price was 70% less than my other quote. The job was done on time and looked fantastic. I got him to install some moulding and he did a great job. He is very neat and leaves the work site clean. Great work for a fair price.
