I celebrated my 40th birthday with with some friends last weekend and we had a fantastic time. The food was superb. The service was excellent. The wait staff was warm attentive and curteous. The owner and his wife went out of their way to make sure all my guests were comfortable. The way they treated us made us feel like we were right at home. To top it all off. They have live entertainment with a piano player and a girl singer. They were excellent. They were so versatile and played almost every style of music you can think of. We ate great ! We drank good wine ! And we danced the night away! I live Toronto and boy, you don't see any restaurants that can accommodate almost any venue. We will definately be back very soon. Such a wonderful evening had by all. Food was excellent - not one complaint at our table of 8. Personally had Cream of Broccoli soup (to die for), caesar salad and veal marsala - all wonderful. Our table staff was both informative and efficient , as well as very friendly and outgoing. The decor is rather typical of old world italian and very relaxing. Since we went on a weekend there was live entertainment (consisting of a piano player & a singer) who were absolutely marvellous (that girl could sing professionally!!) and ended the evening much later than expected on the dance floor. An absolutely lovely experience deemed to be repeated often!!!
Gordon Ramsey would have a fit if he saw this place. The decor is out of the 80's and the food seemed to have been cooked earlier and heated through - pasta was stodgy, lemon chicken's sauce was nasty with a gluey, floury taste. I have eaten lots of Italian food (including in Italy) and this is the worst I have ever had. Don't be seduced into thinking that all Italian restaurants will produce good food - this was the worst I have ever had and I will not go back
terrible in a word - scowling waitress, kraft casear salad, pasta that clearly was rewarmed, seafood that was partially frozen - much better choices in the area - stay away
I ordered the Linguine Pescato.... After waiting for 45min my food arrived. Another 6 min later the owner came over with the Scallops and mentioned that they forgot to put them on. I cut open the scallops and they were still frozen. That is not acceptable... but did not make big fuss return them. They came back, with tomato sauce on then this time and sliced open.. lets just say I did not take the chance to eat them this time. Service was good, but serving frozen seafood not really something I will going back for.
