Our lethargic greeter eventually took us to our table, despite the restaurant being empty. We were told our server would be with us momentarily; after 15 minutes, we still hadn't even been acknowledged. I returned to the greeter, to inquire as to why we were waiting for so long, and was told our server was on the way. Another staff member approached our table to act as a temporary substitute for our server, and addressed us condescendingly and unapologetically, as though we were inconveniencing them. We left without ordering.
As a direct comparison, we were regular diners at Linguine's previous location on Pinnacle Street in Belleville. We found the food to be decent, and the atmosphere much more sincere, personal and inviting. The new location felt sterile, forced and cold (both physically and atmospherically). We won't be dining here again.
My veal parmigiana with pasta was just OK. The pasta on the top of the plate was cool but the pasta on the bottom was extremely hot. The veal was also unimpressive. It was dry and tough and when it was served to us the cheese on the top was firming up. Obviously the entire dish had been microwaved.
I was visiting Belleville so I went on the internet and pulled up this site... I read the reviews and decided to go there... it was amazing... I even drove and hour to go back there again to try something new... I am really happy for this web site... now I don't have to guess if a restaurant is good or not when I travel ... next I will be trying Simon's Sizzling Wok... I will keep you posted on how that goes...
The whole experience was fabulous. Very generous, beautiful people work there. The service was incredible and fast, the food, as always, was delicious. Very beautiful atmosphere and would definatly visit this restaurant again and again.
We had a great time at the new Linguine's the service was fun and interactive with our table vary Italian, it reminded me of when i was in Italy for our Honeymoon along the Costa Azurro, vary authentic food portion sizes were huge and the cook himself came to talk to our table, where i thanked him for accomedating for the surf and turf even though it wasnt on the menu, The best place in town by far !!!
