We frequent this little piece of culture in downtown Belleville as often as we can. The lunch menu is incredible. Where else can you get delicious sandwich/quiche/salad with soup for $10? The bread is organic and baked fresh on the premises. The service is friendly and when you ask about the food they can always tell you what you want to know. The atmosphere is lovely and when the kitchen is open like it is there is nothing to hide. The bistro is impeccably clean and it is obvious that the chef/owner takes great pride in his business. We have eaten every sandwich, quiche, and meat pie on the menu as well as every soup and salad. We are never disappointed. For dinner you have to try the chef's table that takes place twice per month. An opportunity to sit with 12 other people to enjoy the surprise chef's choice menu of starter, main, and dessert. Incredible. If you haven't gone to L'Auberge de France then make a point of going. And don't miss the fresh croissants on Saturday mornings.

st veronus still has wonderful tasty food. I especially love the stoemp. BUT they no longer have a lunch menu- which means having lunch here is now much more expensive than it used to be (ie. the stew used to be $11 for lunch, now its $18 off the generic menu). because of this- I likely will only come here for dinner now as Peterborough has lots of other reasonably priced lunch options.

I like this place, though I wish there were more vegetarian options in the menu (in fact, they're shrinking: the portobello mushroom burger has disappeared!).
That said, the servers are very pleasant, helpful, and energetic, the place is nice, with a few different atmospheres available (the pub, the restaurant, the patio), and the food is mostly very good. The veggie curry, at $10, is a good deal, though the curry spicing is better some days than others; beware the green salad, which is nothing but greens — other salads are better, and the dips are nice.
Nice selection of beers, by the way.
They often have some great live music, and then there's the jar of jellybeans on your way out....
