The Canadian National Railway crossed the homestead of Robert Leask in 1911, and later developed into the town site of Leask. The 'Petition for Incorporation of the Village' was sent to Municipal Affairs on July 27, 1912 and made official September 3, 1912. The first Council Meeting on Oct. 7, 1912 was attended by Fred Smith, Sidney Whiting, A.J Chambers and P. Philibert.The main economic industry surrounding the Village of Leask is agriculture. The Village of Leask offers a variety of services including a grocery/butcher shop, hardware store, gift shop/ liquor vendor, a cafe, post office, automobile garage, fertilizer outlets, health centre, special care home, community school, daycare, barber and hair studios, building contractors, bus service, funeral home and more.
