Comic books used to be an exclusive subculture, but now they’ve become an indispensable part of popular culture. In Montreal’s Saint Laurent borough, Cosmix is the place where you can find stories about the heroes you’re looking for.

Brothers Pierre and Sylvain Lamy opened Cosmix in 1983, and in 1990 moved the shop to its current location on Decarie Boulevard near Metro Côte-Vertu. “At first we were collectors,” says Pierre. “There were four of us, actually, and we were all collecting as a hobby. At one point we just decided to transform our hobby into a business and that's what we did.”
