The Monkland Merchants Association brings together the merchants of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce’s Monkland Avenue in order to galvanize their efforts towards two large yearly events: the pedestrianization during the Grand Prix de Montréal and The Flavours of the Monkland Village. “We are a non-profit organization that takes care of organizing these two events,” explains the Association’s president, Danny Roseman. “They are two festivals that cater to families and are exceptional experiences. You have to see it to really understand the atmosphere. It’s a moment when neighbours put down their phones and speak to each other.”
Danny estimates that 90 per cent of the street’s merchants adhere to the Monkland Merchants Association, contributing financially and logistically to the organization of the two street fairs.
