The best med food in windsor. Great atmosphere and service. Music was a bit loud but i will keep coming back for the food and overall experience.
I'm pretty picky about Lebanese and I haven't had a good run with ordering food downtown. I can say honestly this was my first meal that wasn't awful. The salad was fresh and crisp. The chicken shawarma was hot and tasted great. The person on the phone was helpful and accommodated my extra requests. Delivery was fast. If only every place could be like this.
There is always a lot of buzz about this place but it's definitely not my 'go-to'. I find that the portions are really quite small for the amount you charge. Whereas a lot of other places readily do substitutions, they act like it is a huge deal and they are doing you a big favour if they do it. The hummus is pretty bland but the pitas are AMAZING. I generally have a sore stomach after I eat here, which may be preservatives or something in the food..who knows.
There were 5 in our group and even though the restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday night, our service was very good. I"ve never tasted better hummus. In fact the delicious food seemed to never stop coming with the Mazaar Feast we ordered. It truly was a feast!
I was in Windsor on business with a group of collegues and we decided to try this restaurant. We had heard good things about the food and we were not disappointed! We ordered the Mazaar platter and it was fantastic - there was plenty of food for all of us and it was all great. We all liked the lamb and the beef especially - and the bread and hummus was out of this world! I would definately recommend this restaurant and the next time I am in Windsor, I will be back.
I'm a food critic, and a great trained cook, I go out to eat every night of the week, so when my girlfriend, Nadia, said lets try this place I was ready to go. My girlfriend and I walked, and we were seated immediately the service was fantastic. The waitperson was very attentive and informative, on all of the different types of food that was served here.. We started out with the hummus appetizer, and a couple glasses of wine .The serve freshly baked pita bread, and it was grrreatttt. We shared the salad and it was amazingly perfect, just what I would have expected from such a fine eating establishment. We also shared the large chef platter, and the entrees were hot and plentiful. This place is a keeper.
Interesting comments regarding price versus quality. I have been to quite a few Arabic cuisine eateries and have to agree with the sentiment that the food is a little pricey but I think the quality is excellent. If you want copious amounts of food, head to a buffet. The service on both occasions was adequate. It can be noisy when crowded.
Mazaar really captures the delicate art of fine Lebanese cuisine. I've never tasted more succulent, flavouful shish kabob in my life. The only disapointment I had was the prices and the portion sizes. The price you pay is for quality. I highly recommend this restaurant. Had I a better income I'd make a point of trying everything on their menu. The food is so good I thought to myself "I must bring my entire Lebanese family here to try it out". Because it is so expensive, though, I'll just go there for special occasions (and I'm glad I've found such a nice place for that).
After having made a reservation several weeks prior to family arriving from out of town to celebrate a 90th birthday party, we were assured to be seated in the newly renovated private dining area. Upon arrival we were squeezed into the private dining area where we could barely fit at the table. This was the least of our worries since it was the worst service I've ever received coupled with the worst dining experience ever! The food was expensive for the little portions, orders were missed and confused and the overall evening was a disaster. FORTUNATELY, the birthday celebration was the following evening. The 14 of us left and returned to our home where we ordered more food after spending close to $400.00.

they made such a big deal out of the restaurant so we visited and didnt like their food at all it had a weired taste if you know about middle eastern food it wasnt fresh for us and the food was expensive with not much quantity i will not visit it again.......
The food and service here is wonderful. The only complaint is that it is a little pricy for the same thing that I can get at other lebanese restaurants for cheaper.
Homemade warm pitas, amazing! Hummus really good, fattoosh really good! Nice classy atmosphere and helpful staff if you need help in the description of dishes On my favourite restaurant list for sure!
This is one of my favourite destination restaurants in Windsor. Always great food and good service. The whole family loves the food.
I'm a bit of a food snob, and I love to cook. So I might over analyze this a bit. Our server was fantastic. She was bubbly, attentive and informative. We started out with the Hummus Extra - with steak tips. I'd skip it. I thought it was a waste. The hummus was very bland, and the steak tips were very small. The pita bread, that the server raved about, was also disappointing to me. It was good at first, when it immediately arrived at our table. But it very quickly became very dry and yucky - think about the way that bread tastes if you've microwaved it too long. I think they must have microwaved it to warm it up or something. ick. The fattoush salad on the other hand was amazing. The best I've ever had, hands down. The rest of the chef's platter, and the entrees were all delicious. The meat and rice were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Very good overall. The drinks were good, and came quickly, I can't complain about that. The only other thing I took issue with, was the restrooms. They were run down, and the women's door didn't lock. My friends and I were both barged in on. I don't get to dine out all that often. I love to cook and it takes a very excellent restaurant to draw me out of my cave. That said, I'd go back. Ciao
Liked the food, both items I had were good. If I could fault anything it would be the service. I got the impression our waiter was really trying to impress a table of patrons for one reason or another. I will go back however.
what can I add .......its all been said on here TRULY AMAZING A real delight going there. Everytime its better. Its one of the few restaurants we get excited for. Staff is great and if I ever did have a problem I would care enought to tell the manager BECAUSE I love it there so much. Windsor needs more places like this. What A GEM
This place has become home to me, my entire family and a lot of my friends. I visit Mazaar for lunch or dinner at least twice a month, and everytime my experience is to brag about. Last month, we had a large family reunion in Windsor and one evening we had a reservation at Mazaar for dinner. Everything was amazing; food, service, atmosphere and value!! My relatives were bragging about how good Chicago's restaurants were (their home town), until that night. They said never in their life they experienced such a Lebanese restuarant experience and everybody on the table agreed!! Thefood presentation, flavour, service, quality and value are unmatched!!! Way to go Mazaar, thanks for making us proud!! My cousins spoke to the owner about opening one in Chicago. I want my commission Mazaar lol
Mazzar impresses us everytime we visit. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very delicious and consitent food. Their fresh hot bread makes a perfect match with their famous humus.. Great restaurant for most occasions.
