Charles Hastings was incorporated in 1983 through the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto (CHFT). The first members moved in October 1984 and some of them still live here. Eight members volunteered to form the first Board of Directors and they, together with CHFT, oversaw the development of the Co-op.
