Elan Marko, founder of Business Basecamp, loves small businesses and helping new business owners succeed. As a business graduate, he had seen lots of companies succeed and fail for various reasons, and he knew that he could help businesspeople avoid critical mistakes that could cost them their dreams and careers. “Business Basecamp started from me helping my friends. I have a business degree and started a few businesses myself, so for many years I’d have conversations with my friends about their businesses and I’d help them with projects. It was something that really connected with me and I really enjoyed.”
Elan decided to focus his efforts on what he loved most about businesses: the early stages. He started Business Basecamp as a service to help small businesses and startups make the right decisions to help them succeed. “What I provide is strategic planning for small companies, usually between one and 10 employees,” Elan says. “I like to compare it to a ship. New businesses have a lot of holes that slow them down, so I come in and strategize on ways to plug those holes and help the company acquire clients.”
