Won't be returning

Have been here before a year ago. The place has real gone down. We were sat at a table which wobbled. I had to put 2 sugar packets under the table leg so it didn't wobble.. The food was very disappointing. The green beans were over cooked. My chicken had no taste and my mashed potatoes were cold. My husbands pasta was a little better but nothing to rave about. We waited for our bill and never came so had to leave the table to get it. Will not be returning.

Utilized a Groupon $15 for $30. Ordered Bistro Salmon. Salmon was good, not the best quality. The pastry was slightly burnt on the bottom. The rice was the blandest rice Ive ever had at a restaurant, if I wanted plain old rice Id make uncle bens. Vegtables were good. Service was slow - we were seated and then waited 7-10 minutes to have a server take a drink order, placed order and wairt for food was longer than one would expect. I've been before for lunch but never for dinner. The atmosphere would have been great had it not been for the 2 men and 1 women at the bar who were drinking it up like they were in a pub. They were over noisey with excessive profanities.....unacceptable considering this is likley the closest St Thomas has to fine dining.

great tasting food

Food tasted great.. Some questionable service such as them forgetting a place setting, having to ask several times for water refils, hair in one of our partys food. Other than that the food was great tasting, The deserts are excellent.

Great Place! The food was excellent. I haven't had food this good in a restaurant for a long time. This was a great dining experience, and I can't wait to go again. This is going to be our new favourite place! The service was excellent also. Jenny was really friendly and our drinks and food came out in reasonable time. The Beanery is a great place to enjoy a casual night out with friends.

The Beanery positions itself as a fine dining restaurant, but is anything but. There is nothing fine about loaded baked potatoes and meat stuffed with processed cheese. The menu is unfocussed, and seems to try to please everyone, but ended up pleasing no one in our group. Uninspired wine list (where are the local VQA wines?), frozen desserts, and a server who seemed unfamiliar with food in general. As for atmosphere, if there is one place that needs Restauant Makeover, this is it. St. Thomas needs a fine dining restaurant worthy of enticing locals to stay in town and not drive to London for fine food. This place, sadly, isn't it.

don't bother

TOTALLY pretentious for a small town place. My meal didn't turn up AT ALL and our "waitress" didn't even notice. No apology or comp either. When it STILL didn't arrive as the rest of my group was finishing, I told her to forget it BUT she still charged me for it with STILL no apologies. Never again. Someone needs to tell the entire staff they are in ST THOMAS and NOT Manhattan!

Food portions are more than generous and the quality outstanding! Our sever was prompt and very helpfull when choosing our wine. I recomend the Beanery over any other local establishment.

get rid of booth at back of restaurant near washrooms , this booth is located behind a very annoying vibrating wall , you can not only feel vibration but its drooning sound as well, not a romantic spot to have a meal , rest of restuarnt has appeal , but one bad spot spoils it

Top notch service and incredible food made this a great dining experience. The serving staff was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. Possibly the best service we've ever had in a restaurant. The dinner menu although not very big is varied and interesting. Well prepared, nicely presented, in generous portions, the food is outstanding. The price is more than reasonable. Great big recommendation.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant! The pastas and appetizers are fantastic. The seafood dishes my husband always orders are delicioius as well. Always save room for specialty coffees and sinful desserts. I have never had a bad experience here. Staff is attentive. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, especially with their new renovations. This restaurant is our favourite anywhere. My husband is french descent and the Beanery still is the best over any french restaurant he has visited. The portions are perfect, the food superb, and the servers go above and beyond. We had our meal before our wedding in the Beanery and Steve and Nicole made it something we will never forget. Waitress was excellent - went out of her way to get us the most romantic table in the restaurant, awesome prime rib - to die for desserts - what more can you ask for??? A reasonable bill with FREE appetizers. Not bad (did I mention the desserts?)

Service was fantastic.Waitress was very accommodating and friendly. The food was hot and well presented but the pasta became tiresome and was overcooked (or should I say Pre-overcooked). Overall We loved the atmosphere and will definately return... I haven't tried the Prime Rib yet.
