We are shotokan styled karate School located in Scarborough, On Canada. We are certified by Karate Ontario and affiliated to WKF, NKA and Kenseikan International, Japan.
Our goal Is to offer true karate training for very law membership fee and therefore we operate as a Not For Profit Organization.
We often participate in tournaments and demonstrations.
KENSEIKAN can be translated to different meanings. The name 'Kensei' was given to noble and sacred Samurai Saints who lived in Okinawa long time ago (Legendary Sword Saints). They were highly skilled, sharp, honest but lethal.

I have been part of this class for over 10 years. This class has helped me develop a sense of respect and discipline with many different aspects and people in my life
I have attended this class for over 10 years. Not only have I learned how to defend myself, but Ive also learned self-discipline. And discipline has helped me a lot in other aspects of my life.
My kids attend this Dojo and they love it. Sensei Wijeiwardana is really good with children. He make the class very fun, interactive and engaging for all the kids. He has a very keen interest in helping the kids build self esteem and learn self defense. He is keen on technique and proper form, and the application of the Kenseikan principles to your everyday life. Be aware that the classes are weekly, and run for 3 hours - this works well for our family's schedule.
Not only excelling the martial arts techniques of Karate for self-defence, but also to train under a dedicated sensei and a disciplinarian to give punctuality, discipline, honesty and character to your kids for their future, I highly recommend this class.
My son has been a part of this class for 17 years. I highly recommend this particular Karate School as it is non profit and the lessons learned are life lessons.
Belts must be worked for and Sensei Nandana is a true champion of the art.
Both of my boys and niece attend this school. They have turned out with great values and to date have not got into trouble or fights. They don't go around showing off or boasting. A sign of great teaching and humility.
