My friends and I went after a day of XC skiing and had a wonderful evening. The meal started with a complimentary bowl of homeade chickpea soup topped with fresh cilantro - delicious. I ordered the super tasty melt in your mouth lamb shish kebab. BTW - we loved it so much we bought some the owner's 'secret spice' to take home with us!
What an amazing experience! Everyone should check this place out. Excellent food and the owner was brilliant. Best service I have ever had!
We weren't sure what to expect, given a couple of the other reviews, but we loved it! The food was delicious and the service friendly. The decor is wonderful, cushions along the benches and canopy overhanging. Great atmosphere. My favourite part was the dessert. You can't beat homemade baklava and fresh mint tea. The tea was served in a traditional Morroccan tea pot, which was poured for me with a flourish and the sugar came in a little treasure chest. The Morroccan coffee was strong with a hint of cinnamon. We both ordered tagine cooked meals, which we were very happy with. The tagine captures the steam and cooks the ingredients together, so the food was moist and flavours well blended. Overall, we were very happy with the service and the restaurant. We're going back.
Very Nice spot nice relaxing service. Nice decor and good food would reccomend but not for kids under the age of 12 because the food is new and unique and has different names. No kids menu. But overall it was an amazing experience.
The decor is cozy and warm, so different from any other restaurant - kind of exotic. Meat was well prepared, tasty and tender. I wish we had more sauce with it as I found the food a bit too dry (eating couscous with not enough sauce was not pleasing). The creme brulee was way too expensive for it s value $5.50 + taxes for such a small tiny desert (2x times the size of a toonie). The service was a bit slow and the waiter not very friendly. Harsh tone, with short sentences, did not smile at all. If there is any other Moroccan restaurant in town, I would not mind trying it.
This restaurant was a real treat. Excellent decor- great service, the food was fantastic. We all highly recommend this restaurant. And hey, don't be in a rush - enjoy.
The food was decent, but overpriced. Service was just atrocious! We were charged extra, clearly ignored, water was never refilled once and finally because we were the last ones left, we were asked to hurry up and leave even though we have yet to finish our dessert and it was still an hour away closing.
The food is excellent but the service was TERRIBLE. Super slow, totally ignored us for 20 minutes and sat us in a weird table that got a blast of freezing air every time the door opened. I asked the waiter for a more sheltered table of two that was available and was told it was reserved. When I said that I also had made a reservation I was met with a shrug. Then, a couple came in and spoke to another woman who asked if they had a reservation and they said no. They were seated at the table I had inquired about. Grrr! Besides the service the food is quite good and portions are quite large, so share or get leftovers to go (mine kept very well). Being a Friday night, there was also some live entertainment - a belly dancer. Really amazing and her costume was tasteful yet very beautiful. Did not make us uncomfortable, was not inappropriate for children and was very tastefully done. All in all a unique experience, worth a second visit (and hopefully a warmer table).
