My husband and I rated the lamb korma as the best we've ever had. The rest of the meal was also very memorable and worth every penny.
Having never visited this restaurant before, we were not sure what to expect. When we arrived, we had expected a buffet, but discovered the buffet is only served at lunch. The owner approached our table and guided us in a wonderful selection of menu items. His suggestions were perfect in both taste and portion amounts. The hospitality was remarkable as we felt like we were being welcomed into someone's home for a meal. The food was delicious and was the best Indian cuisine that any of us had ever had not only in Ottawa, but also Toronto. Our entire experience there was unforgettable and we would definitely return there again. They also provided us with a delightful complimentary dessert! Loved it and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
I'll start with the less important, service and atmosphere. We had a girl serve as and she was extremely nice and pleasant. Though we did notice that as a group they seemed confused quiet often. (servers and what seemed to be the manager or owner) The atmosphere was good enough. Tables are not too close or anything like that. In terms of the food the words that come to mind is inconsistent and average. For example, the tandoori was probably the best part. But that same tandoori, one piece of chicken is tender and just great, the other kinda hard and a bit crunchy. The butter chicken was not bad but again it was not warm, it was served basically cold. The cream that makes up the butter chicken was not liquid it had come together on top (like what happens to milk when you heat it) WAs it re-heated? don't know I never had the aloo dish I think it was called..the cauliflower with potatoes..but that tasted just like cauliflower to me..even though it seemed to be in some sauce. Not sure if it should taste that way. In any case, not a fan of cauliflower. The biriyani was alrite. So all in all, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either.
Im a frequent diner at this restaurant and i just love it here! Their buffet is cheap but excellent! I love the seafood dishes they serve and they always alternate the dishes so theres somthing new almost evrytime i go there! there mango lassi was very refresshing! and i challenge you that you wont find better naan bread anywhere else in ottawa
The food was superb. Possibly the best indian food in Ottawa. Each dish was delicately prepared and differently flavourful from the next. All appetizers were excellent (great sauces). The atmosphere is calming and the service attentive but never pushy.
