I purchased and installed an after market Koyoair A/C condensor through Campbell Ford which was supplied by 1-800-radiator. It worked for less than 9 months so I returned to the dealer and it was replaced under warranty. I was told it was defective. The next one lasted less than 9 months and now 1-800-radiator will not replace it because it was only warrantied for 1 year. Neither condenser lasted a year and now I'm out over $800.00. Not happy and I will let people know.

    1 800 radiator do...

1 800 radiator does not honour warranties! Got a new A/C compressor from them and reported that out of the box was very difficult to rotate; was told to install it since it is guaranteed. It seized during testing; sent it back and was told "no warranty because ester oil was used" by Norm from 1 800. Checking with my oil supplier I proved ester was not used. Norm then listed other reasons [all incorrect] why it was not the part. Same oil and procedure used in dozens of successful installations!

I have to mention that you seized 2 different compressors, from 2 different manufacturers, on that one job. One compressor was an OEM part. Ester oil is not recommended by OEM manufacturers. Through several years of testing , manufacturers have found PAG oil to be the recommended lubricants. You cannot mix PAG oil along with ester oil. They will NOT mix. When you have a compressor failure, you do have to replace certain components, you have to flush the other parts and to fully vacuum the entire system. These are steps you did NOT do. You did not follow proper procedures. You just cannot remove and install a compressor without doing any of the above. Here's what I copy / pasted from a manufacturer's web sites: If the wrong type of compressor oil or the wrong viscosity compressor oil is used, it may damage the compressor. In fact, the main reason for a newly installed A/C compressor to fail is using the wrong type of compressor oil."Universal" A/C compressor oils are often PAO-based and are not the same viscosity as the PAG oil recommended for a specific type of compressor. This can lead to poor lubrication and premature compressor failure. If you follow the Mitchell Guide, as an example, the lubricants recommended for the job you were doing, was PAG 100 . I had 3 different manufacturers™ compressors in stock at the time you did the installation. All 3 stated PAG 100 ONLY It should also be noted that on another a/c job you were attempting , you did purchase PAG oil from us through a local distributor, so we would not know who you were.I guess I did get through to you. 1-800 Radiator does warranty its parts; but when it gets to NEGLECT and or ABUSE , you sometimes have to draw the line. A/C jobs are best left to the Pros. Norm 1-800-Radiator of Ottawa
