Great food and service

I'm thinking a competitor wrote the review Small and Thin. Why else would they say they aren't good? I have been going there for years and they have the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. If they aren't a competitor, they should go back and try them again. They don't know what the're missing.

Great little place

Visited this place after being referred by our real estate agent. Cute little restaurant and amazing food. Hard to find good fish and chips like this anywhere and honestly think its the best I ever had. They had onion rings in tray to try which made me order them because they were so good. While waiting for my take-out it was nice to see the staff talk to customers by their names. This is my kind of restaurant and happy to find a place with great fish and chips and great service.

Lived in Bronte for over 30 years and try this place every so often hoping they've improved - not the case. Batter is extremely grease-ridden. You can almost feel it filling your arteries. Very convenient to where we live but we prefer going over to Burlington where we've found a place that's able to prepare their fare with little grease being left on the food. We'll give them another chance perhaps in five or so years.

I love this place SO MUCH! Never liked fish and chips before coming here but once I tried the haddock and chips I was swayed for good. The fish was cooked to perfection and the staff was so nice and friendly. It was an all around wonderful experience. Havent been to a restaurant thats left me feeling so wonderfully satisfied in a long time.

This is my favourite Fish and chips resteraunt ever. I will absolutly refuse to go anywhere else. I like how everything is made from a crisp, home batter and this resteraunt has been in the family and operating for 41 years.Im very fond of how this resteraunt offers smaller portions sizes and alternatives for thoes who dont like fish. All of them employees are very caring and friendly especially the owners. Were always greated promptly and my kids love comming here! overall this resteraunt is great and I highly reccomend it!

Always Friendly, Always Fresh

This was my second time dining at Bronte Fish and Chips. The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy, mushroom appetizers were delicious..homemade and topped with ranch. The waitress remembered me from before, which was a pleasant surprise and asked my about my family, who had accompanied me before. I love this restaurant! I will continue to be a customer.

Great Meal, Great service

We ordered a halibut and chips and seafood platter. Great meal. Best fish and chips we have had in a long time and we are from England. The homemade cherry cheesecake is excellent. We will definately go back.

Great place to eat

Have been going to this place since I was little and love the food. It is really nice to have the staff recognize you when you walk in. This is one of my favourite restaurants. Don't worry you have not lost me as a customer as some people have no clue they must be your competition trying to give you a bad rap as I have never had a problem and have been going to your restaurant for almost 10 years.

The food is excellent and the service is great. I don't know what restaurant the people who gave it a 2.3 went to, but it couldn't have been this one. I have been going here for years and have nothing negative to say about it. I will definitely return.

We couldn't believe how small the orders are. Fish very very thin, fries full of oil and the salad is a joke. That was the worse Fish and Chips ever. We paid $10.00 each !!!!

A great place with good family type service and smiles on their faces. It would be good if the reataurant were open until 8:00-8:30 PM each night.

I have been eating Bronte Fish & Chips since they opened. The shop opened at the same time I moved to Oakville back in the 60's when I was a teenager and they have been a constant in my parent's home and in my own. They are the best, not greasy and nice and crisp.

I try and get my fish and chip fix 2-3 times a month. They are definately the best in the area that is why they have been there forever. Glad to see they have not changed much. Everything they sell is homemade which is rare to find. The batter is crisp and the cherry cheesecake is to die for. I am hungry just thinking about it. It is nice that it is still in the same family. This is definately one of my favourite places to eat.

We were greeted promptly when we arrived. We ordered 2 beers with our specials. After we ordered, another customer arrived, ordered the same special (but nothing from the bar) and was served well ahead of us. I was surprised that he was served first particularly considering that he didn't order a drink from the bar; the only way they can make money when running a special like that. I had great difficulty getting the attention of a server to request more fish. After the meal, they made us wait an unreasonable length of time to take my credit card while they hung around the kitchen and talked. The food was good enough I suppose - not great, but passable. Service is important too, however. I won't be returning.

The food was amazing. We took out as we live just down the street and didn't feel like dining in.... We took it home and wolfed it down and it was fantastic. The service was great.. although it made me kind of queasy that the girl used her unwashed hands to stick the mushrooms and the onions in the batter... but none the less.... Great food!

A small and humble spot, you would almost miss it driving past. Nice dining room, but we usually grab ours to go and find a picnic table in nearby Bronte Park looking over Lake Ontario. If a simple setting with simply wonderful fish and chips is what you are looking for, then look no further.

Our overall experience was fantastic! The food was amazing, especially the cherry cheesecake for dessert! The service was exceptional with a friendly waitress! We were there with another family with four very active kids and we were all made to feel welcome. I would highly recommend Bronte Fish & Chips to all!

we went to have dinner their. after all the years of going their the portions of fish keep getting thiner and thiner. the thickness of the fish is about one third from the thisle in burlington.everybody we talk to we'll tell you the same thing.the onion rings are still great.the salads are still great.and fries of course.
