This restaurant created a very pleasant and appealing atmosphere. I was pleased with the warm welcoming received upon arrival. The place has been on Locke for years and every visit I have had only the best service. The staff are very accommodating and deal well with any request you may have. The Beasley House has a very warm and comfortable feeling as the dinning area only seats around 30 people. The menu offers a vast array of options and will suit the need of any type of customer. Anywhere from seafood and steak to hamburgers and fries, which is really helpful when dining with a larger, different group of people. The restaurant is especially appealing to me in the summer time as I spend a lot of time on Hamilton's trendy Locke street and the Beasley House is the only one with a patio??!!! Great place for lunch, as the owner always provides exceptional service, and never rushes you ! Overall, my experience was great and I would definitely recommend and return!!
This place was terrible. I was so disappointed in pretty much every area. I went here to celebrate my 4th anniversary with my gf and we both left very unhappy. The seafood cakes were way over-cooked. I had the seafood pasta, the dish was very bland and the shrimp and scallops were very rubbery, the mussles were dried out and gritty. I also found shells buried in the bowl after getting a chunk in a bite it took. My girlfriend had the stuffed sol, the stuffing was soggy and she complained that fish tasted "off", her grilled veggies were mushy and the roasted potatoes were totally bland. As far as atmosphere goes - it looks like owners could decide between fine dining, pub/sports bar. The dining area looks ok, a little out dated, but there is also a sports bar looking area within view of the dining room, not to mention the tables have paper over top of the table cloth. The waitress essentially ignored us after giving us our meal. After "finishing" our meals we sat in an empty dining room, not a single other customer in sight and still our food just sat in front of us for at least 20 mins. Overall- very disappointing!
This place microwaves their hamburgers! That says a lot. I can't even explain in writing how the food at Beasley's is horrid. If you are a fussy foodie this isn't the place for you. also the place looks so tired...the 1980's are so over...time for an update on everything about this place.
Family Christmas Dinner - Great salad, but turkey dinner left a lot to be desired. Small portion on large plate. Vastly overpriced. Will not return or recommend to others. No spoons to serve Cranberry sauce provided. 30 plus in the party. I've had more and better turkey in a hot turkey sandwich for $8.00.
Janice was wonderful. What a delightful beginning to a great night. Went out to dinner with my brother (something we had planned to do on a monthly basis, but the last time we went out was a year ago!). We both had the special - salmon stuffed with lobster and had seafood cakes as an appetizer. The food was wonderful, but it was Janice who made our visit memorable. She was engaging and very funny. Talk about being able to multi-task. She managed the bar as well as looked after tables (and looked after then very well). Will definitely return to The Beasley House Bistro for another evening. Thanks so much Janice!
I have always been most impressed with this little restaurant. Upon arrival we received a most pleasant greeting, water was brought to our table promptly, drink orders were taken and the wait staff were most sociable and attentive. Since this location is smaller and doesn't accommodate car loads of people i'm am drawn to it as opposed to loud, packed franchises. My food was delicious, portion sizes were appropriate (not too small, but also not gluttonous and wasteful). The food was perfectly tempered. I would suggest that the cook use less salt and i would also suggest a little less dressing on the salad. As for the atmosphere, as i mentioned before there wasn't car loads of customers so the noise level was very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean, bathrooms tidy and smelling good. On suggestion i would make to the staff would be to change the table clothes after each sitting. Our table cloth wasn't bad, but a fresh one always gives that extra touch. Other than that, its a pretty impressive place to eat. I would suggest that the next time you find our self shopping on Locke to stop in for a bite. I would also suggest to the last reviewer, give the place one more try.
Possibly THE most disappointing restaurant experience EVER! Initial greeting and drinks were fine, but the service went downhill from there. Waited 45 minutes to order another drink, and almost an hour and a half for our food to arrive! Watching other patrons arrive, be served, eat, pay for their meal and leave while we had an empty table in front of us! Our table was avoided by waitstaff, no explanation was offered - we were invisible! Finally, someone plucked up the courage to tell us there was "an accident" in the kitchen, and our meals would be a few minutes longer. No offer of some bread or an appetizer to quell the hunger pangs. Finally, our food came and was disappointing. By this time we were upset, uncomfortable and unable to enjoy our evening. If we had been told about the "accident" in a timely manner, and offered some kind of appetizer to hold us back until our meals arrived, I think we would have felt better. A very frustrating and disappointing experience I would not want to repeat.
Nice decor, pleasantly greeted upon arrival. Food was enjoyable, though my steak was overdone, which is where the problem occurred. I am not one to get upset when food is not perfect, but I do expect to have my meal checked on to ensure that it was cooked as requested. Our server was nice and polite, but was too concerned with chatting with what appeared to be her regulars to pay any attention to us. I understand that regular guests often expect a little extra attention, but if new guests are expected to return, they need some too! After our meal was ordered, our server never once returned to the table. Another staffer brought our food, no one checked on our meal, nor offered another drink or dessert, which was desired. After giving up on getting another drink or dessert and flagging down our server, we waited fifteen minutes to get our check and then had to physically go inside from the patio after another fifteen minutes in order to pay. As a server myself, I am normally very patient about wait-times during busy periods, but there was absolutely no reason for us to have waited so long when there were very few other guests dining at the time. We could see our server just standing around chatting to her regulars. Please advise your servers that new clientele are just as important to building your business as regulars are!
Food was great and service excellent. I don't know what DavidO was talking about. I would definitely go back again.
Very disappointed after reading the previous reviews. The decor of the dining room hasn't changed since 1982. Nothing matched so it was an assault on the eyes. The tables did have white linen but also a sheet of paper over top. All we needed were some crayons. The "seafood" cakes were made from that imitation "crab meat" you buy at the supermarket and deep fried. We should have known better. The chicken Caesar was good; no complaints. The mushroom ravioli was covered in a bright, pinkish sauce and tasted very much like canned tomato soup. For $17 I would expect something more. The bottle of Pinot Grigio was nice but again pricey ($30) for a house wine. There was no wine list (a bistro without a wine list??) and no draught beers due to a problem with the gas. The service was fine.
My buddy Geoff and I frequent the Beasely House Bistro once a month. We always go for the Medium Chicken wings that come with a leafy salad and cherry tomatoes. I told Geoff that Beasely's had the best wings in Hamilton, or for that matter Toronto. He is a believer and tells me he sneaks into town every once in a while and scarfs back a plate with a cool pint of beer. Great value, Great Service ... don't lose Kelly ...
Very good food, good service, good atmosphere. Will definitely return. Keep up the good work.
This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I go here once in a while for their amazing chicken/ seafood crepes. Limited wine selection, but the service is great. Small patio is fun in the summer. Great atmosphere inside with a fireplace in the corner. Will be going here forever as long as it's open. My favourite!
Nice place to get out if you want good food.... and ther staff is always nice to chat to. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES
