Penny Varney Jewellery Gallery and Gifts is located in the heart of Gravenhurst at the entranceway to Muskoka. The gallery is made up of artists from all over Muskoka, including Hilary Clark Cole, who specializes in steel sculptures; Robert Dykstra who is known for his pointillism; Tony Varney whose signature style is in the form of Tibetan photography; Linda Hrynyk, creator of oriental-style pottery; and David Dawson, who has won many awards for the use of colour in his Muskoka paintings. The gift section is comprised of a multitude of interesting items, including unique ladies' fashions and children's wear, Muskoka Girl, the NEW Tilley Intrepid bag, as well as stylish pieces for your home or cottage. The shop is owned by Penny who is herself a goldsmith. She does commission work and repairs and shows a cross section of many types of jewellery in sterling silver, gold, and other metals. Penny has a deck on the top of her store where one can go and have their lunch. I wish I had gotten around to this earlier but wanted to share. I was trying to create something unique for my wife for an engagement ring. I went everywhere in to find someone that could take my vision and make it real. She did so in such a wonderful way and was so good to deal with. Even during unfortunate circumstances for her she made it happen. People are continuously amazed at the ring she crafted from my vision.
