Dated decor. Broken bathroom door, broken bathroom stall, broken paper towel dispenser. Limited food options, some items on the limited menu unavailable. My entree tasted bad- couldn't eat it. Sadly it was the only thing available that I would have eaten on the menu so couldn't order anything else. Waited a long time to receive the bill for the food I couldn't eat. After paying, the wait staff did offer to comp my meal though which was a nice gesture. Good people just bad food.

don't go!!!

Worst experience ever! The owners were rude. The atmosphere was unwelcoming. Worst of all, we weren’t welcome to stay and enjoy our coffees on their patio! My wife and I wanted to order lattes, but we also wanted to buy some ground coffee while we were there so we ordered at the cash register – makes sense right? Well, apparently they have a rule that if you want to enjoy your beverage at the café (or on the patio) you must take a seat and wait for service, weird. So my wife and I were kicked out…luckily the weather was beautiful and we were able to find an empty bench down the street. The lattes were just okay and we didn’t enjoy them because we were in shock from the whole experience. The ground coffee that we purchased is terrible. We will definitely NOT be returning next time we visit Bayfield. Bayfield needs a new café, one that you can actually sit in, with great coffee and friendly service.

Fantastic!!! Who knew they did Dinners!!!???

I just had to come home from my great dinner tonight in Bayfield and share my fantastic experience at this hidden gem called Davincis. Apparently this used to be a Cafe but the Owners have expanded their menu and now serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I had no idea they were fully licensed!! The dinner we had tonight in the Garden Patio was by far the best I've had in Bayfield. I enjoyed a beautiful poached salmon with a lemon dill sauce, my partner had a huge lamb shank and our friends had the ribs from the Friday BBQ Menu. They boasted that they were fall off the bone ribs. We all were very pleased with our dinners and topped it off by sharing the delicious strawberry rhubarb pie and carrot cake. I look forward to my next visit to Bayfield just so I can return to this great place again!!!

Never Again

Went there Saturday June 24th as it was Mom's birthday. I had the special which was a Turkey Pianni and it was awful. The trukey tasted like it was boiled and all dark me, I only had two bites and felt sick. I could not have another bite or finish it the waitress offered me somthing else but didn't explain that they were not going to comp the meal or give a percentage off or I would have ordered something to take home to give to someone else as I felt sick and could not eat anything else. We were going to go for icecream after but my stomach would not let me. The waitress didn't explain the rules at their restaurant is customer is never right and they would give you something different but never take it off the bill. They offered me to take it out but I said no I didn't want someone else to get sick. My stomach felt bad all night. The bean soup I had that came with it was cold and didn't taste very good. Don't go there if you want good tasty food for a reasonable price, as it's not good and it is very over priced.

Love This Place

I have no idea why people have posted negative reviews. I frequent this place all the time and I LOVE it. The paninis are great, the carrot cake - to die for and there's several pasta dishes I really enjoy. Don't even get me started on the lamb shanks - WOW!!!. I've never experienced bad service. I have witnessed the owners asking people with take-out coffee to not sit at tables. It's understandable as the place isn't that big and can get quite busy. These people are trying to make a living so if you want to drink coffee when people are waiting to have lunch (or it's going to get busy shortly) I can see why they ask people to not take up seats (but they don't need to be rude if they are). I've enevr seen rudeness. I'm sold on this place - it's my favorite in Bayfield.

A Great Surprise

Unfortunately, most people tend to write a review when they have a bad experience, but we ate there tonight and we were pleasently surprised. Being a cafe , we didn't expect the quality of the food to be as good as it was. We had the spinach and artichoke dip as a starter. We usually share a appetizer cause weren't generally not huge eaters. It was excellent. We've had a lot of pub variations on this appetizer and definitely as good as any. For entres we had the pork tenderloin and the lamb shank. The price for what we got was great. Still kinda shocked because weve read some reviews and our expectations were not high. It had a great atmosphere. Carlos (one of the owners) was quite chatty. Nothing bad to report. Very clean, tastefully decorated , great food , great service. Thanks guys, we will definitely be back.

Cappuccino

Have been to this establishment approx. 8 times this season and always felt a subtle unpleasant atmosphere when entering the cafe and the owner makes you feel less than welcome. Have put up with this since I don't know any other place in Bayfield where I can get a cappuccino "to-go". Today me and my dear friend went there again to have a cappuccino and by mistake the owner made us two lattes. When I pointed out the mistake (which anyone could have made) he made his partner whip up some foam to be added to our lattes. I told his partner that we would like much more foam than just a thin layer on top of a latte and he told me that what I was asking for was a "dry cappuccino" and made no attempt to change our order. He was of course wrong, but what is even worse, they obviously didn't think it was worth a few pennies to satisfy a customer by serving what had actually been ordered. I will probably not return to this cafe and that will probably not make any difference to the business but I hope that the owners soon change their attitude if they want to keep an operation that could be so pleasant with different or reformed management.

I agree with other reviewers

I visit Bayfield 5-6 times a year and I have yet to hear anyone say anything positive about this place. It is true the owners throw a fit if you order a coffee to go and than decide to sit on the patio to drink it in a "TOGO" cup. My wife and I have walked by when the owner has "chewed" people out for doing so. Like who wants to go there and be treated like such. Into today's economy you can't afford to treat your customers poorly. Has for separate checks it is not that difficult to do separate checks for people. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and if that what a customer wants than that's what you give them. These two guys that own this place need to realize that they need us the customers more than we need them. There are lots of other nice places in Bayfield to spend your hard earned money in and this place is last place I would spend mine.

The owner was rude and drove us out. lol

Well if you visit the restaurantica website, you will see that I am not alone in having a terrible experience at this café, specifically in regards to the owner's behaviour. I went here twice and had terrible service BY THE OWNER. The first time was with my mother who was raving about their spinach omelette and coffee, which was excellent. We had to bring our bill to the front and wait 5 minutes, while the owner was standing in front of the cash chatting to a friend. My mom asks "can we pay here?" He responds "No. That is the waitress's job. You will wait for her." A few days later i come back with two friends, get seated, then decide we need to move to the table next to us for some shade. We mention that we are moving tables, please let our waitress know. He insists rudely- no we must wait for the waitress to see if she has that table. We say "That is not very good customer service" and he says "Customer service? Customer education!" Then announces to the entire patio "Don't stress us out! We don't need it. The waitress comes back and says it's not problem to move. But not before he whispers in my friends ear "I am the owner and can kick you out!" Then as we start to change tables, he starts to harass us again about moving! This patio is small and this has all been pretty embarrassing, so I have had enough and say "stop talking to us!" He took a simple problem and pretty much drove us out of the café. So then we feel beyond the point of being able to stay, so say, we are leaving. He says: "I will go and get your bill!" We stand there in shock, and the people at the table beside us say "Don't wait for your bill, just go!" So we walk out, stressed and hot and hungry.
