Located in the heart of Yaletown and offering what is said to be one of the hottest studios in Vancouver, Westcoast Hot Yoga provides a tranquil space where students of all levels feel welcome and are encouraged to practice at their own pace.
“Your practice can be really strong and you’ll be challenged, or you’re brand new and you’ll be supported; it’s about doing what’s right for you in the moment,” says Alana Taylor, general manager. The stunning spa-like studio does not even have stairs, so it’s an ideal match for students overcoming injuries.
In addition to offering traditional 90- and 60-minute Bikram-style classes, Flow, Power, Basic Hatha, Pilates, Yin and classes utilizing weights are also featured alongside the well-known hot class. Classes are taught in either 40- or 30-degree heat.
“We are very open to having the instructors bring a little bit of themselves to each practice and use their intuition to develop their practice based on the needs of their students,” says Alana.
