"The key to gaining an animal's trust on the grooming table is to give it lots of love and treats and perhaps talk to it as you would a baby," says Farrell Augustin, owner of EZ Dog Grooming and Dog Supplies. “You need to make sure that they can feel that you have good energy and that you're not going to harm them."

Farrell opened his first pet store at this Gastown location in 2002 under the name of Gastown Pet Supplies. After two years, he leased the premises out. "I think the store was ahead of its time back then," he explains.

He later spent considerable time and money to upgrade and renovate the store before reopening with a new name and brand new look in 2012. As well as grooming, he now has room for a small boutique store offering high-end pet food and supplies, a doggy daycare for a maximum of five dogs, and one-on-one dog boarding.

    My 5 months puppy went through eye surgery because he got an injury from one of the dogs at Ez dog daycare. On Wednesday, February 21st, As per Ez dog’s owner, Farrell Augustin, the dogs were drinking water when a fight started between the dogs and one of the dogs pushed my dog with his paw in my puppy’s right eye. The dog’s claw went through my puppy’s right eye.

    Brought our Maltese to this place for grooming today. We thought that everything was fine until we noticed a deep cut across her vagina. Our Maltese weighs only two-three kilograms, so this is serious. Worse, nobody told us anything about this. Utterly disgraceful. No one should ever go to this place for their dogs safety!

    love this shop they carry the best products for your pets health. The groomers are very compassionate to all pets and has done a wonderful groom on both my dogs who can be a handful.
