The Montessori Childcare and Early Learning Centre was established in Prince George in 1988. We offer children the opportunity to begin the Montessori learning experience in infancy and progress to the Montessori public school system. The Montessori method engages the children in meaningful activities in a prepared environment that allows freedom with responsibility. Montessori reflects the needs of the individual child; the progress at their own pace in a learning environment that encourages concentration, intrinsic motivation, cooperation and self-discipline. The essence of Montessori Education is that every child is treated with respect: "help me to help myself". A common thread running through all of Montessori's writing is the concept of Peace. As much as possible all curriculum is taught with a Peace perspective.
