Absolutely the best vet clinic I have ever been to. Every single vet is knowledgeable, caring, professional and good at what they do, no matter how complex the issue. Dr. Jay is amazing beyond words. This clinic has looked after our dogs (rescues with issues) lovingly for years. Every doctor and employee in the place is the best ever!!
A huge thank you to the chemainus animal hospital for looking after my dog. I had to euthinize my dog after 13 years of having him and I have to say all the staff was so kind. Everyone gave him big hugs and lots of love and gave us a quiet comfortable room to stay in while we waited for the process to be done. They gave him tons of treats and a sedative to make him sleepy before they administered the lethal drug. It was a great peaceful ending for him. He looked like he was sleeping in a comfortable position. They showed me and my old dog nothing but respect and compassion. I am very thankful to have this wonderful clinic with the wonderful staff. They made a very hard day for me so much better with their caring loving and professional services and I'm glad brody had them to take care of him. Euthinization isn't easy to do on the owner nor the staff but sometimes necessary for the pet to be at peace and they made it a beautiful peaceful way out for my handsome boy with absolutely no pain nor discomfort. I just called this vet to take my other Rotti in to see this veterian was advised they will no longer see us due to the fact that I put my chocolate lab down cause I couldnt afford the $7000 they quoted me on to fix my lab and couldnt even guarantee the job!!!!!! so saddened by this makes me sick he would judge me and not see my other anaimal so glad u showed your true colors...some vet u are!!!!! Sad actually !!!!!!
I'm truly sorry you feel that way as well as for your loss. I can only imagine your emotional turmoil at the time may have clouded some of your recollections. Once I stabilized your pup with the broken leg, had one of our technicians spend the better part of an afternoon to locate surgical referral options, compassionately reduce your bill, even offer to have you sign over ownership for us to take further care and responsibility for your pup only to later find out you'd had your pup euthanized at another clinic, deeply saddened my staff and I. In doing this, it was very clear that our philosophies at the Chemainus Animal Hospital regarding how we care for pets differ tremendously from your own. Thus, at a later date when asked if we would provide veterinary service for your other pet, in good conscience, we had to decline. My staff and I all wish you and your pets the best wishes.

Think I'd prefer Dr. J. Pollock over people docs
We've had our Kitty for 15 yrs of his 20 yr life. Kitty has visited Dr. Pollock numerous times. We always received the most quickest, most compassionate care in the 4 yrs that he's been our doctor.
Out of all our Kitty Doctors - and there were many different ones over the years, Dr. Pollock is top notch. The most caring ever! He must have a house full of pets!
If you ever need pet care, he's the best!
We recommend him and his staff highly.
